ABOUT THE CONCERT
Dancer’s palette portrays the relationship between Art, Music and Dance. The Recital takes us through a voyage that embodies colour, sound and movement through time. A designer’s palette of flamboyant and artistic costumes through time.
Dancer’s palette focuses on famous artists of different periods showcasing their works as early as 16th century to 21st century accompanied by musical theme the time such as Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Modern and Contemporary. This is a spin on dance, music and art, a connection forged between generations and the inspirations derived from dance and movement.
Dance has been an important part of ceremony, rituals, entertainment and celebrations in early civilizations. Many early forms of dance and music were created and performed together.
Artists were inspired by dance and music and some of the most well known Depictions of dance in art are of ballerinas by the French impressionist Edward Degas. The emotion and Eurhythmics of dance and music displayed on an artist’s canvas tells a story.
Exposure to music art and dance will enrich a child’s aesthetic experience and enhance one’s awareness of the relationship between visual art, music and dance.
To promote awareness that there are many talented artists in Brunei, Studio Scene in conjunction with Rainforest Gallery will feature local artists and their interpretation of the different periods of art history.
There will be a tea showcasing a sneak preview of the performance and local artists involved in “Dancer’s Palette”.
